Pamela Donkers (Yoga Instructor)
Yoga has been part of my life for over 15 years and has transformed me in ways I never thought possible.
I initially started practicing yoga to keep fit. I loved how it made me feel and allowed my body to move in different while challenging my balance and strength. With many new changes happening in my life, I then started to use as a way of dealing with stress and anxiety. At that point, I was introduced to restorative yoga as a way to calm my nervous system. That is when I realized there was more yoga than just Asana ( postures). I felt a change in me. I began my spiritual journey by learning from many inspiring teachers and taking courses on meditation and mindfulness.
My yoga practice has allowed me to be more calm, centered, and compassionate. It has allowed me to recognize when my nervous system needs to down regulate and has given me tools to work with and help in those moments. Life still has its challenges and not every day is perfect but with awareness, we can help heal ourselves! This beautiful practice is about our breath, being able to move our bodies openly and freely, while connecting with our soul.
Being authentic and vulnerable is an integral part of my teachings. Are you looking for a gentle movement practice or new to yoga? Maybe you need to let go of tension or stress. Classes are accessible to all bodies and all levels, in a safe, supportive environment.
